Plainly Dressed
Privacy policy
Effective September 14, 2026
Plainly Dressed is a beauty and fashion publication operated in the United States under the name plainlydressed.com. This policy explains what information is handled when you read our pages or contact us.
Information handled when you visit
You can read the site without an account. We do not offer newsletter signups, comments, checkout, or contact forms. We have not installed advertising pixels, audience analytics, or session-recording tools. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Our host, Vercel, processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, approximate location inferred from it, browser and device details, the requested page, and the time of a request. These records help serve pages, investigate errors, and prevent abuse. See Vercel's privacy notice for its practices.
Cookies and page services
We do not set advertising or audience-measurement cookies. Our pages load AMP software from cdn.ampproject.org to display images and operate the article menu. As with other web requests, the service receives connection details, including your IP address and browser information. Google's handling of information is described in its privacy policy.
A search engine or another service may display a cached copy of an AMP page. That service's privacy terms also apply when you use it. Fonts and editorial images are served with the site, without external font services or embedded social feeds.
You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser. Blocking scripts may affect the menu. We do not use cross-site advertising profiles, and a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal does not change the basic page delivery described here.
If you contact us
The site's contact address is hello@plainlydressed.com. If you send a message, it may include your email address, name, message, attachments, and email headers. Please do not send passwords, payment details, medical records, or other sensitive information.
Information received through contact messages is used to address the request and maintain any necessary correspondence. Email providers may process that information to deliver and store messages. We do not add senders to a marketing list.
Retention and sharing
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose described here, including resolving requests, maintaining security, and meeting legal obligations. Hosting records are subject to the provider's retention practices. We do not promise a single deletion period for records controlled by a service provider.
Information may be handled by providers supporting the site or disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights, or to address fraud and security incidents. It may be processed in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, obtain a copy, or challenge a response. You can send a request to the contact address above. We may need information to verify a request and avoid disclosing someone else's data. Some records may need to be retained where the law permits or requires it.
Links and purchases elsewhere
Product links take you to independent brands, shops, or other resources. Those sites control their own data collection, cookies, payments, and privacy terms. This site does not receive your payment details when you buy from another business.
Our current product links are ordinary editorial links. If we add affiliate links in the future, we may receive a commission from qualifying purchases. We will identify those links where readers encounter them and update this policy. No current commission arrangement is implied.
Editorial identity and AI assistance
Claire Ellis is the publication's editorial pen name. The profile portrait is an illustration. AI tools assist with writing, research organization, design, and artwork. First-person recommendations express editorial judgments; they do not establish that the author bought, wore, or tested a product.
Product illustrations are labeled and linked to brand or retailer product photos. They are not photographs of the named items. Other editorial still-life images may also be generated.
Children and policy changes
The site is intended for adult readers and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so the matter can be addressed.
We will update this page when our practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
